Gretchen Kirshman

KIRSHMAN, Gretchen E. - age 77, of Fenton, died Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Genesys Health Park. Services will be held 1 PM Friday, March 9, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton with Pastor John Vannest officiating. Interment will follow at Parshallville Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Wednesday and 2-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Gift of Life or Genesys Hospice. Mrs. Kirshman was born July 11, 1929 in Detroit, the daughter of Ed and Gladys (Taylor) Sootsma. She married Clare "Bud" Kirshman on July 1, 1949 in Hartland. Mrs. Kirshman was employed at Brown Well Drilling for many years as the office manager, in addition to being a farmer's wife. She attended Heritage Hills Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, NASCAR racing, softball and basketball games, but most of all she loved her family. Surviving are: husband, Clare "Bud" Kirshman; daughter, Kristine and husband, Dennis Lockwood of Fenton; five grandchildren, Pat Kirshman and wife, Holly, David Kirshman and wife, Jenny, Alisha Kirshman, Chad Lockwood and wife, Carlie, Leslie and husband, Steve Brown; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister-in-law, Dorothy Feldhahn; many friends and other relatives.
