ISAAC, Helen - age 85, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 in Youngtown, AZ. She was born July 18, 1926 in Beit Sahour, Palestine. Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and loyal friend. She is survived by: her beloved husband of 65 years, John; sons, Jirius and wife, Khulude, Sam and wife, Jeanette, Richard and wife, Linda; five grandchildren, Jadalla, Isam, Matthew, Kameel and Alisa; sister, Rahme of Beit Sahour, Palestine; brother-in-law, Abdanour Sahouri and wife, Angel; sister-in-law, Rabiah Daoud; special cousins, Evelyn Delbridge and Daisy Isaac; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, close friends and extended family. She was devoted to her family and being a superb cook enjoyed preparing family meals and producing the ingredients in her own bountiful gardens. Helen immigrated to Flint from Beit Sahour in 1953. She was fluently bilingual and enjoyed traveling to and experiencing new cultures. Helen was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Doreen. Helen was a life-long member of St. George Orthodox Church in Flint, singing in the choir and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday, March 19, 2012 at St. George Orthodox Church, 5191 Lennon Rd., Flint with the Very Reverend Joseph Abud officiating. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-7 PM Sunday at the church where a Trisagion service will be held at 7 PM. Visitation will also be held 10 AM until the time of service Monday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. George Orthodox Church or St. George Ladies Auxiliary.
