Iona Standridge

STANDRIDGE, Iona Mae, - Age 78, of Flint, died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at home.  Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday, May 19, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor Lawrence Gill officiating.  Interment in Crestwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6-8PM Saturday and 2-8PM Sunday at the funeral home.  Contributions may be made to Set Free Soldiers.  Iona was born July 13, 1929 in Kennett, Missouri the daughter of Charles and Gladys (Shepard) Jackson. Iona was a waitress at Ding Howl Restaurant and Uncle Johns Pancake House of Flint while raising her children. She then was employed by AC Delco for 20 years until her retirement in 1993. Surviving are 2 daughters, Shari Matthews of Flint and Kay Yax (Roy) of Swartz Creek; son, Eugene Standridge of Flint; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Juanita J.
