Irene TIPPETT

TIPPETT, Irene, age 88, of Swartz Creek, formerly of Flint, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Clare Bridge of Grand Blanc. Services will be 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at St. Paul Episcopal Church, 711 S. Saginaw St., Flint. Fr. Martin Fields will officiate. Irene was born August 20, 1921 in England, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Jane (Feron) Hickman. She had lived in Flint since 1926 and graduated in 1939 from Northern High School. Irene married Ernest Prescott Tippett on April 25, 1942 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Flint. Irene was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church, and was active on the Altar Guild. She was an active member of the Hurley Medical Center Auxillary for many years. Surviving are her loving husband of 67 years, Ernest of Swartz Creek; 3 children, Sharon Tarrant (Lawrence) of Parkersburg, West Virginia, Richard Tippett (Linda) of Toledo, Ohio, Suzanne Losey of Swartz Creek; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, John Hickman (Maxine) of Grand Rapids. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Richardson and son-in-law, Roger Losey. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church Altar Guild or Southern Care Hospice.
