BAIN, James D. - Age 87, of Lennon, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Munson Medical Center, Traverse City. Funeral service will be 1:30PM Friday, May 22, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Chaplain Hank Messing officiating. Interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery with a military graveside service under the auspices of Swartz Creek VFW Post #3720. Visitation will be 11AM Friday until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. James was born on June 18, 1921 in Saginaw, the son of the late John and Isabella (Dick) Bain. Mr. Bain served his country in the Army during WWII. He married Lillian Zimmerman on July 12, 1947 in Detroit and she preceded him in death. James retired from G.M. Ternstedt on January 24, 1980. Mr. Bain enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was a member of the Honor Guard for VFW Post 3720, Swartz Creek.
