MANUTES, James John- Age 79, of Flint, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Genesys Health Park.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 7, 2008 at St. Mary Magdalene Orthodox Church, 2439 South Long Lake Road, Fenton.  Fr. Paul Jannakos officiating.  Burial immediately following at Sunset Hills Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint from 4-8 PM Thursday, 2-8 PM Friday and at church from 10 AM until time of service Saturday.  A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home 6:30 PM Friday, held under the auspices of Flint Lodge #23 F. & A.M. and a Parastasis service will be held at the funeral home 7:00 PM Friday.  Those desiring may make contributions to Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Mary Magdalene Orthodox Church.  Mr. Manutes was born August 19, 1928 in Flint, the son of John and Mary (Maniatakos) Manutes.  He was a grad-uate of Flint Central High School and was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy.  He married Ruby Jean Evans May 8, 1950 in Angola, IN.  Mr. Manutes had resided in Flint his entire life.  He owned and operated the Golden Coin Bar.  He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #2777, Durand Eagles Aerie #3851, life member of Flint Lodge #23 F. & A.M., Elf Khurafeh Shrine and the Bay City Consistory.  Surviving are: wife, Ruby Jean; daughter, Demitra and husband Tom Pyles of Swartz Creek; 3 brothers, George Manutes of Tawas/Florida, Nick and wife Maria Manutes of Flint, Robert and wife Virginia Manutes of Charleston, SC; sister, Anna and husband Alexander Jefferies of London, Ontario, Canada; several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Evelyn Cmach; brother, Louie Manutes.  Online condolences and tributes may be posted at the obituries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
