SHARP, James - age 84, of Flint, died Sunday, December 23 2012 at Genesys Hospice Care Center. James was born September 29, 1928 in Flint, the son of Alexander and Annie (Hynd) Sharp. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II. James married Marjorie Fetrow on September 2, 1950. He was a life member of Fenton VFW Curtis Wolverton Post 3243, life member of Grand Blanc Lodge No. 571 F & AM, and Elf Khurafeh Shrine. James was very proud of his Scottish heritage and played in the Elf Khurafeh Highlanders Bagpipe Band. He was a proud member of the U.S. Navy LST Association. He retired from GM Chevrolet Manufacturing as a foreman. Surviving are: wife, Marjorie of Flint; three children, James (Beverly) Sharp of Linden, Gayle (Steve) Torhan of Alpena, Laurie Sharp-Baker (David Baker) of Burton; also survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, James Leslie Sharp and brother, Gabriel Sharp. A memorial service will be announced at a later date by Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint.
