Jay CARR

CARR, Jay - Age 84, of Linden, died Sunday, September 11, 2011. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, September 16, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden with Pastor Bill Moull officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 11-3 & 6-9 PM Thursday. Those desiring may make contributions to the family. Jay was born September 15, 1926 in Fort Monroe, VA, the son of RJ and Olga (Olsen) Carr. He was married to Orra Inette Haywood on June 4, 1949 in Flint; she preceded him in death on March 25, 2003. Mr. Carr was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII. He retired from General Motors in 1992 with over 40 years of service. Surviving are: children, Randell (Cindy) Carr, Kent (Darlene) Carr, Brian Carr, Rickie (Jeremy) DeYoung; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Glazar.
