BARBER, Jeanette - age 76, of Flint, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at her residence. Services will be held 1 PM Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 11 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Mrs. Barber was born March 23, 1934 in Flint, the daughter of Joseph Michael and Carrie (Miller) Schiestel and was a graduate of Sacred Heart. She married Durwood R. Barber on June 27, 1970 in Grand Blanc. Mrs. Barber retired from General Motors in 1972 after 18 years of service and resided in Florida since 1973. She enjoyed travelling and playing bingo. Surviving are: husband, Durwood "Doc" Barber of Flint; four children, Randolph (Pat) Sheick of Lake Wales, FL, Susanna (Robert) Kost of Grand Blanc, Richard Barber of Flushing and Jack Barber of Clinton Twp.; six grandchildren; sister, Joyce (Robert) McClelland of Swartz Creek; one niece; three nephews and many cousins also survive.
