Juanita Conroy

CONROY, Juanita Loreane - age 86 of Durand, died Saturday, April 5, 2008 in Longview, TX. A memorial service will be held 12 PM Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Gaines. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Durand VFW/Am Vets Ladies Auxiliary or Breast Cancer Awareness. Mrs. Conroy was born October 6, 1921 in Canalou, MO, the daughter of Nick and Mary (Wood) Darter. She married Charles Conroy on September 12, 1947 in Benton, MO and he preceded her in death on October 12, 1992.  She was active with Eagles Auxiliary #3851, VFW/Am Vets Auxiliary #8236 and the Durand Senior Center. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Durand. Surviving are: daughter, Cynthia (Leroy) Wilson; two step-daughters, Janelle (Chuck) Sanders and family, Dolores Naranjo and family; two grandchildren, Thomas Conroy and Kendra (Jim) Markley; two great-grandchildren, Gregory and Madison Markley; brother, Roy Darter; many nieces and nephews also survive.
