Kenneth Galbreath

June 1, 1950 — July 30, 2007

GALBREATH, Ken - cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away with his family by his side on July 30, 2007. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, August 3, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church of Flint, 746 S. Saginaw, Flint with Dr. John L. Musgrave officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-9 PM Wednesday and 2-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., (just south of Hill Rd.) Flint. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to EAMA  Guatemala Outreach, P.O. Box 8184, Flint, Mi 48501-8184, (a mission founded by Ken's father, George) or to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1332 N. Halstead, Suite 201, Chicago, IL 60622. He was a faithful follower of Christ, and member of First Presbyterian Church of Flint. A lifelong resident of Flint, Michigan, he was born on June 1, 1950. Ken earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Spring Arbor College, and a Master's Degree from Marygrove College. He was a devoted teacher of vocal music in the Carman-Ainsworth School District for thirteen years, and in the Mt. Morris School District for twenty-one years, from which he retired in June of 2007. He enjoyed the last twelve years of his career team-teaching with his beloved wife, DeeAnn. A published composer, Ken's many gifts inspired his students and colleagues, and his musical legacy will be fondly remembered in the beautiful songs he gave us. Ken is survived by his loving wife, DeeAnn, daughter, Pam Singer (Chris), grandchildren, Natalie and Trent Singer, son, Andy (Stacy), grandchildren, Olivia and Madelynn, son Aaron (Leslie), mother, Jeanne, brothers, Jon (Kathy) and Jim, and sister, Anne. Ken was preceded in death by two infant sons, Nathaniel and Gabriel, father, George, and sister, Mary. Ken's life will be celebrated as a testimony to love, faith, generosity, humor and kindness of spirit. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
