Lily Edmonds

Edmonds, Lily Marlene (nee Bassett) - Age 83, of Grand Blanc, died Sunday, September 21, 2014. Funeral services will be held 2PM Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held 10AM to 12PM and 1PM until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Wounded Warriors Project. Lily was the daughter of Fred and Myrtle (nee Shears) Bassett and was born July 22 1931, in Tovey, Illinois at her grandparents' home. She was raised in Flint and married her high-school sweetheart, Barry Edmonds, in 1950. Lily graduated from Hurley School of Nursing where she enjoyed working in emergency and surgery the best. They had 3 children, Randy in 1951, Robert in 1957 and Susan in 1962. Lily and Barry adored each other and she missed him dearly since his passing in 1982. Lily was a wonderful wife and mother and was always there to help family members in their time of need. She leaves a legacy of love and caring, and an ethic of hard work and perseverance. Lily is survived by her 3 children, Randy and wife Cindy, Robert and wife Gail, Susan and husband Chuck, her brother Paul and wife Jerri, 7 grandchildren, Rachel (Michael), Sarah (Drew), Benjamin (Amanda), Bekah (Nate), Leslie (Sean), Christopher and Hannah (Phil), 3 great grandchildren, Isaac, Isabel and Lily, and very close friend, Leann.
