Linda Purdy

PURDY, Linda - Age 66, of Gaines Twp., passed away suddenly on October 4, 2014. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Keith Bolinger officiating. Visitation will be held 2PM - 4PM and 6PM - 8PM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Shiawassee County Fair or Duffield United Methodist Church. Linda was born January 26, 1948 in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of the late Dwight McCoy and Virginia (Osbun) McCoy. Linda married Phillip Purdy in Swartz Creek on September 9, 1967. Linda attended Grand Blanc High School, Michigan State University and Virginia Commonwealth University. She worked as a dental assistant, teacher, horse trainer and most recently as office manager at the Shiawassee County Fairgrounds. She liked traveling, hunting for antiques, photography, gardening, making baskets, going to art fairs and watching Michigan State basketball. She loved her dogs, goats, horses and most of all, her family, friends and beautiful granddaughter Morgan. She leaves countless friends to cherish her memory, including beloved family members.
