Lois TAYLOR

TAYLOR, Lois Helene, age 84, of Flint, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. Rev. Ward Sipes officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Alpena. Visitation will be Monday 1-4 and 5-8PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Alpena. Lois was born September 23, 1927 in Alpena, the daughter of the late Oscar and Marian (Bates) Anderson. She married Robert J. Taylor in Alpena on June 18, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1994. Lois was employed by A.C. Spark Plug until her retirement in 1985. She was a talented figure skater who continued to skate in later life. She won the 1947 Winter Sports Queen of Alpena and at age 61 she won the Flint Senior Olympics for Ice Skating. Lois also enjoyed sewing, gardening and her vacations with family at Hubbard Lake. She was a loving wife and a fabulous mother, grandmother and friend to many. Surviving are her 3 children, Robert Taylor (Monica) of Clio, Dan Taylor, (Cindi) of Fenton, Becky Thomas (Carl) of Farmington Hills; 8 grandchildren, Eric Thomas, Nicholas Taylor (Jackie), Benjamin Taylor, Molly Lee (Joe), Paul Taylor, Hannah Taylor, Sara Kirk(Greg) William Thomas; numerous nieces and nephews, and many loving members of the Taylor family. She was also preceded in death by her son Bill and her beloved canine companion, Polly. The family extends many thanks to Avalon Hospice for their loving care and support.
