Lorenzo Tafoya

TAFOYA, Lorenzo  Age 59, of Durand, died Monday, August 4, 2003 at Willowbrook Manor. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 AM Thursday, August 7, 2003 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, G-2316 W. Coldwater Rd., Flint with Fr. Timothy Nelson and Fr. Eduardo Lorenzo co-celebrant. Interment will be held in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. A scripture service will be held 8 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held at 9 AM until the time of mass at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contribution the American Cancer Society. Mr. Tafoya was born August 13, 1943 in Flint, the son of Joseph and Mary (Beck) Tafoya. He retired from General Motors Chevrolet Manufacturing. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 659 and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Surviving are: two children, Anthony (Morgan) Tafoya, Andreah (Michael) Hayes, all of Swartz Creek; four grandchildren, Cory, Jessica, Tanner, Tea; girlfriend, Gayle Martinson of Lennon; mother, Mary Tafoya of Flint; seven brothers and sisters, Robert Reyna of St. Helen, Rose Tafoya of Flint, Olga Kleckner of Flint, Joseph Tafoya of Manistee, Fred Tafoya of Flint, David Tafoya of Indian River; Mary Eagleson of Flint; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: grandmother, Mary Flores; father, Joseph Tafoya; brother, Richard Tafoya; brother-in-law, Donald Eagleson.
