Mae Ashford

ASHFORD, Mae Elizabeth - Age 83, of Grand Blanc, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Fenton Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint, with Pastor Steve Baillie officiating. Burial immediately following at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 2-8 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society or Alzheimer's Association. Mae was born September 21, 1925 in Flint the daughter of Claude and Mary Elizabeth (Stockinger) Logan. She married Jeffery William Ashford on July 1, 1944 in Flint. She retired from Michigan National Bank in 1977 as a Loan Officer and had also been employed by AC Spark Plug as a Bookkeeper. Mae was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mae is survived by her husband Jeffery William Ashford of Grand Blanc; 3 daughters, Pamela Kay and husband Jack Stead of Grand Blanc, Gwen Louise and husband Larry Acheff of Schererville, IN, Jill Marie and husband Mike Yambrick of Auburn; 7 grandchildren, Valerie Stead-Potsos and husband Pete of Dexter, Brian Stead of Beverly Hills, CA, Jack A. Stead of Chicago, IL Michael Yambrick of Sanford, Melanie Plumb and husband Tim of Midland, Ben Acheff of Valapraiso, IN, Heather Acheff of Schererville, IN; 4 great-grandchildren, Petey, Jack, Ashley and Anna; special cousins, Frank Tambs of Flushing, Mildred Gocha of East Jordan, Sharon Hardin of Burton.
