LAFOND, Marc A. "Frenchie",  age 64, of Fenton, died Thursday, November 15, 2007 in Kalkaska. Funeral Service will be held 4PM Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will be 12PM Tuesday until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Marc was born February 7, 1943 in Quebec City, Quebec the son of Antonio and Monique (Belanger) Lafond. He married Monique St-Laurent on November 1, 1969 in Marieville, Quebec and soon after moved to Michigan. Marc was employed as a lineman for Detroit Edison until his retirement in 1997. He loved people, and enjoyed entertaining. He was the cook at Deer Camp for all his buddies and for the past 5 years he organized Marco's Annual Ice Fishing Tournament for children on Tipsico Lake, giving each participant a trophy regardless of the catch. Marc took special pride in his pond at home, stocking it with fish and frogs.  He was a loving husband and father and grandfather who lived life with gusto. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Monique of Fenton; 3 children, Tania Trevillian, Patrick Lafond and Valerie Taylor (Jamie) all of Fenton; 3 grandchildren, Donnie Trevillian, Nicole and Valerie Lafond; 2 sisters, Gertrude Lessard (Lucien), Rita Savard (Bruno); 4 brothers, Yvon Lafond (Ginette), Rejean Lafond, Roger Lafond, Serge Lafond all of Quebec. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Richard Lafond and 1 sister, Cecile Vignault. Online condolences and tributes may be posted on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
