GEARHART, Margaret Alice (Butler) - Age 78, of Linden, died Thursday, October 30, 2014. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Karl Barancik officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Lake Fenton High School Library or Mott Community College Scholarship Fund. Margaret was born May 2, 1936 in Flint the daughter of William Robert and Dorthy Alice (Hadwin) Butler. She was a 1954 graduate of Flint Tech. High School. She married Leo Charles Gearhart October 3, 1958 in Flint and he preceded her in death June 8, 2009. She had resided in Linden since 1971 coming from Flint. Margaret was an avid bowler and enjoyed quilting, needlework, gardening, and basket weaving. Surviving are: 3 children, Sally Gearhart of Linden, Lloyd and wife Christy Gearhart of Lake Orion, and David and wife Jean Gearhart of Fenton; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; sister, Sue and husband Floyd Hall of Linden; brother, Don and wife Nath Bristol of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; step mother, Ruth Butler, sister, Pauline Till; and brothers, Lloyd Bulter and Dale Bristol.
