VERHELLE, Margaret May - Age 88, of Fenton, died Saturday, October 20, 2012. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fenton, Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton from 4-8 PM Sunday and Monday and at church Tuesday from 10 AM until time of Mass. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home 7:00 PM Monday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the St. John G.I.F.T. Campaign. Mrs. Verhelle was born November 11, 1923 in Charlotte, the daughter of Carl and Edith (Xanders) Potter. She attended Potterville High School. She married Alex Verhelle January 17, 1942 in Albion and he preceded her in death November 23, 2006. Mrs. Verhelle has resided in Fenton most of her life. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and a former member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Farwell. Surviving are: 10 children, Tim and wife Donna of Fenton, James and wife Karen of Fenton, Daniel and wife Kim of Fenton, Thomas and wife Fern of Fenton, Michael and wife Carol of Fenton, Patrick and wife Kathy of Gaines, Alexis Verhelle of Florida, Matthew and wife Nancy of Fenton, Jeffrey of Fenton, and Blaine and wife Kendra of Texas; 30 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Max, Raymond, and Robert; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 grandsons, Jeffery and Paul 2 brothers, Merlin and Milton; sister, Mildred.
