Marilyn Sventko-Dodd

SVENTKO-DODD, Marilyn Jane- Age 80, of Grand Blanc, died June 9, 2016. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, June 13 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 12:00 PM until the time of service Monday. Marilyn was born January 21, 1936 in Flint, the daughter of Max and Pearl (Hannigan) Lardie. She attended the University of Arizona, where was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She received her Master's Degree from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. Marilyn taught second grade at Selby Elementary School in Flint for 10 years then retired to raise her family. She was a former member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Blanc and enjoyed traveling the U.S. and abroad. Marilyn is survived by two children; Michael Sventko and Kelly King; three granddaughters, Joely, Elizabeth and Katelyn; one brother, Lew (Bobbie) Lardie; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Joe Sventko in 1978 and Tom Dodd in 2009. Special thanks to her care givers, Cindy Putnam, Kathy Dion and the staff at Gross Assisted Living.
