Martha Scanlon

SCANLON, Martha Ellen -- Age 64, of Swartz Creek, died April 30, 2014 at her home. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10AM Tuesday, May 6, at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek, Fr. Nate Sokol celebrant. Interment at St Mary Catholic Cemetery, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Sunday, and 6-8 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, where a Rosary will be prayed at 7PM Monday. Visitation will be 9 AM until time of mass at the church on Tuesday. Martha was born September 1, 1949 in Flint, the daughter of Maurice Paul Scanlon and Eleanora (Rumpler) Scanlon. She was a elementary teacher for Swartz Creek Schools for 30 years. Martha was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Surviving are: sister, Barbara Yoder of Jackson; brother, Paul Scanlon of Grayling; brother, Thomas (Cindy) Scanlon of Holly; 3 nieces and a nephew; 3 great nieces and 3 great nephews. She was preceded in death by her father in 1986, mother in 1993, and brother-in-law, Ronald Yoder in 2002. Tributes may be shared at the obituaries page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
