WOODARD, Martha Agnes- Age 80, of Durand, died Monday, July 21, 2008. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 25, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Mr. Bill Maguffee officiating. Burial immediately following at Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the American Kidney Fund. Martha was born August 21, 1927 in Fayette County, AL, the daughter of Oather Melvin and Alta Jane (Garner) Fowler. She married James C. Woodard November 16, 1943 in Columbus, MS. She had resided in Durand for the past 60 years. Martha had worked for the Strawsine in Corunna for 10 years. She was a member of Swartz Creek Church of Christ. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Martha also loved to garden. Surviving are: 3 children, J.L. 'James' Woodard of Lennon, Gary and wife Barbara Woodard of Durand, Paula and husband James Smith of Corunna; 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
