Martin Panchula

February 26, 1923 — May 4, 2005

PANCHULA,   Martin, age 82 of Glacier Hills Retirement Center in Ann Arbor, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at the center. He was a former resident of the Flint area where he was born on February 26,1923 the son of Paul and Anna (Yambrick) Panchula.    On October 20, 1943 he and Dorothy Florida were married in Flint, she survives. Mr. Panchula had been employed at Buick Motor Division, retiring after 38 1/2 years of service.  He was a graduate of Flint Northern High School, later attended General Motors Institute.  He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in Roscommon  and later entered into  the U.S. Army serving in W.W.II., a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. Post 4087 in Davison and the UAW Local 599. Surviving is his wife, Dorothy, his children, Mary Anna Hall of Dallas, Texas, Martin A. (Delia) Panchula, Dorothy 'Dotty' (Peter) Murk of Muncie, Indiana, Patricia (John) Christich of Flower Mound, Texas, Rebecca Panchula of Flint, Michael (Rose Marie  Varga) Panchula of Ann Arbor and Cathy (Adam) Liebowitz of Ann Arbor.  Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a sister, Ann Faris of Flushing and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, a sister; and a granddaughter, Lisa Murk. The Divine Liturgy (funeral service) will be 9:30 AM. Monday, May 9, 2005 at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, 2333 N. Elms Rd., Flushing.  The Very Reverend David A. Hannes will officiate and burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery.  Friends may visit at the Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. (Just South of Hill Rd.) On Sunday from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M.. A Parastas (wake service) will be 7:00 P.M.
