Mary Ruth HENDERSON

HENDERSON, Mary Ruth - Age 65 of Fenton, died Friday, January 2, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at ll:00 AM Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Burial immediately following at Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 2-5 and 7-9 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the Mary Ruth Henderson Memorial Fund. Mary was born March 25, 1943 in Flint, the daughter of William and Ruth (Lockwood) Dorland. She had resided in Fenton her entire life. She was a 1961 graduate of Fenton High School and had attended Mott Community College. Mary was a business owner in Fenton and Holly, Tri-County Pets in Holly and Please n' Pets in Fenton. She was a past member of Fenton United Methodist Church, was involved in the Fenton Jaycees and served on the Fenton Parks Board. She was active in the brownies and girl scouts as a leader and had tutored at Eastern Elementary helping children to read. Her greatest joy was sharing time with her grandchildren. Surviving are: two children, Elizabeth Ann Henderson and husband Darren Reynolds of Fenton and Edward and wife Erin Henderson of Fenton; two grandchildren, Gillian and Eli; two brothers, Bruce Dorland of Gladwin and Paul and wife Sharon Dorland of Fenton; several nieces and nephews; special friend Jan.
