PAVLICA, Mary Blanche (Burgess) - age 82, of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, December 28, 2008 at Fenton Health Care. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at St. Mary Queen of Angels CatholicChurch with Rev. Fr. Steven Mattson celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 PM Monday and 2-9 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. An American Legion Auxiliary service will be held 7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home followed by a parish rosary at 7:30 PM. Visitation will also be held from 10 AM until the time of mass at the church on Wednesday. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek Veteran's Memorial or Fenton Health Care Activity Center. Mrs. Pavlica was born January 2, 1926 in Flint, the daughter of Ralph W. and Rosalie M. (Roach) Burgess. She married Frank Pavlica in 1945 and he preceded her in death on February 19, 1974. Mrs. Pavlica had lived in Swartz Creek since 1942. She was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek American Legion Auxiliary, Swartz Creek Senior Citizens and the St. Mary 50 and over club. She owned and operated Frank's Market in Lennon with her husband for many years. Surviving are: children, Edward Pavlica and wife, Ruth, Dolores and husband, Robert Swerdan, Christine and husband, Patrick Henry, John Pavlica and wife, Cindy, James Pavlica and wife, Linda; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Pavlica; two brothers, Ralph Burgess and wife, Helen, and Bill Burgess and wife, Peg; sister, Maureen and husband, David McLean; sister-in-law, Bobbie Burgess; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: sons, Francis and Patrick Pavlica; brothers, Mick and Pat Burgess; sister, Marjorie Washam; sister-in-law, Ruth Burgess.
