Matilda Huff

HUFF, Matilda Ruth (Batterson) - Age 84, of Corunna, formerly of Highland, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at Shiawassee Medical Care Facility. Private services will be held, with burial in Iowa. Those desiring may make contributions to the Humane Society. Mrs. Huff was born September 9, 1922 in Batavia, Iowa, the daughter of Guy Edward and Eva (Copeland) Batterson. She was employed by the YMCA in Milford for 20 years, and owned and operated Ruth's Coffee Shop in Highland. She was a member of Highland Congregational Church and volunteered for Adult Meals on Wheels in Milford, and the YMCA Camp in Milford/Highland as an Animal Rescue Volunteer. She is survived by two sons, James P. and wife Joyce Edwards of Owosso, Daniel V. and wife Veronica Edwards of Milford; grandchildren, Eric Edwards of Waterford, Dan Edwards and wife Karen of Atlas, Terri and husband Scott Markiewicz of Grand Blanc, Annemarie and husband Michael Nykiel of White Lake, Katherine and husband Matthew Agnone of Grosse Point, Elizabeth and husband Derick Lacsamana of West Bloomfield, Bradley Edwards and fiance Jamie Dodd of Milford; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Brendan Markiewicz, Zachary and Dominic Nykiel;  several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Rex Batterson, Merle Batterson, and Guy Batterson Jr.; one sister, Minnie Henson.
