Melvin RUFF

Ruff Melvin (Gene) of Grand Blanc age 84 passed away Saturday, July 30th, 2011, at Avalon Hospice of Flint. Funeral services will be 1PM Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc Township. Visitation will be Monday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. He was born in Cardwell MO but grew up and remained in the Flint area to meet and marry his wife of 59 years Robbie Miller. They raised seven children together as he worked two jobs retiring from GM Metal Fab in 1992. There he earned the nick name of Moses and enjoyed his work as an electrician. He also found time to golf, travel and spend many winters in Gulf Shores AL. He served four years in the Army Air Corps from 1947 till 1951, most of his time as a communications tech in Japan and Okinawa. He leaves his loving family to cherish his memory: wife Robbie, children Melvin(Kim)Ruff, George(Janet)Ruff, Annette(Les)Helmkay, Celia(Clare)Weaver, Janice Tiefert, Jill(Mike)Flore, Carrol(Joe)Gilbert, 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two brothers, one sister, any many, many nieces and nephews.
