HENRY, Merton F. 'Mert' - Age 90, of Parshallville, went to join our lord, Sunday, November 9, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Mr. Joel Florida and Mr. David Florida officiating. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-8 PM and Wednesday from 12:00 PM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Salvation Army Bed and Breakfast or Tranfiguration Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mert was born September 20, 1918 in Grand Rapids, the son of Zeno Dale and Charlotte Bertha (Hubrecht) Henry. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He married Carol Jean 'Penny' Sheely July 22, 1942 in Camp Lee, VA. Mert owned and operated M.F. Henry and Associates, Inc; a manufacturer's Representative Business, representing six manufactures of plumbing and heating products for 50 years. He sold the business and retired December 31, 2000. He was a member of Transfiguration Evangelical Lutheran Church, American Legion, life member of D.A.V. in Flint and the Military Officers Association. Surviving are: wife, Penny; 5 children, Sharon L. (LeRoy) Johnson of Burton, Ben T. (Linda) of Linden, Sandra C. (Kenneth) Siderman of Traverse City, Robert M. (Susan) of Brighton, Michael D. (Linda) of Kokomo, IN; 21 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald.
