KRIES, Mildred Irene -- Age 87, of Fenton, MI, formerly of Grayville, IL, died April 5, 2007 at Avalon Hospice Center in Flint, MI. A memorial service was held in Fenton, MI. Graveside services will be held 4 PM Saturday, April 14 at Big Prairie Cemetery, Carmi, IL. Mrs. Kries was born June 1, 1919 in White County, IL, the daughter of L.J. Doneghue and Myrtle Verina (McDowell) Doneghue. She was married to Ed Kries on December 24, 1955 and he preceded her in death July 25, 2000. She had resided in Fenton, MI, the past year. She had previously resided in Carmi, IL, Grayville, IL, Flint, MI, Clewiston, FL, and Belle Glade, FL. She was the owner of Millie's Beauty Shop in Grayville, IL, and the Beauty Bowl in Carmi, IL. She was the coordinator of the Grayville Beauty Pageant for several years, and active in the Carmi VFW Auxiliary receiving a national award for their poppy display. She enjoyed fishing, nature, bingo, family, friends, and her dogs. Surviving are: sister, Betty Hart and husband Noble of Carmi, IL; step-son, Bernard Kries; dear friend Judy Owens of Grayville, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Kries; parents; brothers, Arthur Doneghue, Frank Doneghue, Carl Doneghue, L.
