Nancy McKenzie

McKenzie, Nancy, age 70 of Burton, died Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Fenton Extended Care Center.  Nancy was born in Rutland, Ohio on March 21, 1935 a daughter of Cecil and Lucille (Bryant) Powers.  She has been a Flint and Burton area resident for many years.  Nancy retired from the Jacobsons Department Store in Birmingham, Michigan after 35 years in retail sales.   She was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister.  Surviving are two children; Guy McKenzie and Cheryl McKenzie, both of Detroit, 6 grandchildren;  Brandon, Michelee, Tivonee, Jihad, Guyand and Jamala.  Also surviving is a sister, Helen Moye and husband Henry of Clarkston, Mi., a brother, Lawrence (Eddie) Powers of Detroit.  Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters; Mary Watson and Josephine Grogans.  Funeral services will begin promptly at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 18, 2006 at the Sharp Funeral Home Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd. Rev. James Hawke officiating, burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.  Visitation at the funeral home will be from 11:00 A.M. Saturday until the start of the service.
