July 25, 1929 — March 22, 2008

WELKER, Naomi R., age 78, of Fenton, died suddenly, Saturday, March 22, 2008 while on vacation in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral Services will be 12PM Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Pastor Michael Anderson officiating. Visitation will be 1-8PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to G.R.A.C.E. Inc. Naomi was born July 25, 1929 in Essex, Missouri the daughter of Jack and Jewel (Pope) Harty. She married James Welker in Piggott, Arkansas on February 28, 1950.  Naomi devoted her entire life to her family, faith, and friends. She had the gift of nurturing others, through wonderful homecooked meals, or just being there when they needed a friend. She will live in the hearts of all who knew her. Surviving are her husband of 58 years, James; children, Jim (Joy) Welker of Roscommon, Terrie Parker of Taylor, Tim (Lisa Anne) Welker of Fenton, Dana Rockman of Fenton, David (Randa) Welker of Flint, Lisa Kaye (Elwood) Bedell of Gaines, Jon Welker of Fenton, Mike (Linda) Toy and daughter Liana of Fenton, grandchildren, Julie, Lindsey, Karen, Jeff, Allen, Erin, Meagan and Rachel; great-grandsons, Ryan and Caleb; sister, Noma Ayers of Clio; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
