Nathan SCHAFER

SCHAFER, Nathan - Age 94, of Flint, died Friday, July 5, 2013. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, July 8, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Burial will follow at Machpelah Cemetery, Flint. Those desiring may make contributions to the Schafer Scholarship Fund at Flint Jewish Federation or Population Institute, 107 2nd St. NE, Washington DC 20002, or Nathan & Joan Schafer Fund for United Way at Community Foundation of Greater Flint. Mr. Schafer was born December 10, 1918 in Luck, Poland, the son of Meyer and Ita (Kleiner) Schafer. He served in the US Army 1942 - 1945. He owned Schafer Realty Co. with his brother Sol. He served on many boards including, Population Institute and the Flint Jewish Federation. He is survived by his children, Jack Schafer, Ari Schafer, Leslie Schafer, Ita Schafer, Matt Stiltz (Liz), Wayne (Denise) Hallem, Joe Hallem; 10 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
