BOTTECELLI, Paul - Age 90, of Fenton, died Sunday, October 9, 2011. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, October 17, 2011 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide Street, Fenton. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Saturday and Sunday from 1-4 and 6-9 PM and at church Monday from 10 AM until time of Mass. A rosary will be prayed at the funeral home 7:00 PM Sunday. Those desiring may make contributions to Avalon Hospice or Alzheimer's Association. Paul was born September 8, 1921 in Fenton, the son of Joe and Agnes (DeRose) Bottecelli. He was a 1939 graduate of Fenton High School and a 1943 graduate of Ferris State College, where he received his degree in Pharmacy. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. Paul was clearly seen as the leader of his siblings known affectionately by the rest of the family as "The Big Five", he gained even greater status when he married Patricia Magner March 2, 1946 and she preceded him in death January 28, 1998, he then married Anna Marie Lutz July 13, 2001 and she preceded him in death January 3, 2002. He owned and operated Fenton Drug/Ideal Pharmacy from 1947 until his retirement in 1985. He had resided in Fenton all of his life. Paul served on the Fenton City Council and was Mayor of Fenton. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors at The State Bank and was inducted into the Fenton Alumni Hall of Fame. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fenton V.F.W. Curtis-Wolverton Post #3243, American Legion and Fenton Rotary. Paul was formerly a member of the Fenton Jaycees and Fenton Kiwanis Club. Surviving are: 4 daughters, Jo Marie and husband Larry Neitzert of Morrice, Mary Kay and husband Alex Simon of North Muskegon, Paula Bottecelli and husband Dr. Chuck Koller of Houston, TX and Tracy and Ron Justice of Linden. 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; sister, Virginia and husband Robert McKenney of Holly; brother, Max and wife Alice Botticelli of Honolulu, HI; several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Curtis "Loopy" Foguth; sister, Florence Murphy; brother, James Botticelli. As said at his induction into Fenton High School Alumni Hall of Fame "After the war, unlike others I chose to come home to Fenton".
