Peter Spisak

SPISAK, Peter - age 93, formerly of Linden, died Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Sunrise of Northville. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, June 13, 2016 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 6481 Faussett Rd., Howell with Fr. Gregg A. Pleiness celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery. Visitation will be held 12-6 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Augustine Catholic Church. Mr. Spisak was born August 22, 1922 in Dixonville, PA, the son of Charles Edward and Mary (Yankasky) Spisak. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. Peter married Harriet Catherine Nycek on June 1, 1946 in Barnesboro, PA. He retired from General Motors on August 31, 1986 after 26 years of service as a machine repairman. Mr. Spisak was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, American Legion Linden Post #119, Knights of Columbus Dearborn #3860, Heartland VIP Senior Center, and St. Augustine Catholic Church. He was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Pinckney, Moose Lodge #833 in PA, National Slovak Society in PA, Loose Senior Center in Linden, the NRA and AARP. Surviving are: wife, Harriet Spisak; five children, Peter (Doris) Spisak, Jr. of Woodhaven, Charles (Rose) Spisak of Hudson, WI, Nancy Ann (Robert) Briody of Milford, Michael (Cathy) Spisak of Milford and Joseph (Laura) Spisak of Leslie; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
