HODGES, Ralph Sumner - Age 79, of Lennon, died Saturday, April 30, 2016. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Kathy Phillips officiating. Burial in Yerian Cemetery, Lennon. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 1-4 and 6-9 PM and Thursday from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or Leader Dogs for the Blind. Ralph was born April 2, 1937 in Stanton, the son of Eugene Sumner and Freida (Herzog) Hodges. He married Sandra Jean Nelson July 28, 1956 in Ionia. He retired from GM Metal Fab after 37 1/2 years of service, he also owned and operated Hodges Garden and Lawn Service for 50 years. He had resided in Lennon since 1960 coming from Flint. Ralph was a member of Lennon United Methodist Church. He also was a very active member and longtime treasurer of the Lennon Lions Club. He had served on the Lennon Village Council and was the Village Police Commissioner. Ralph was a Boy Scout Leader. He enjoyed traveling, camping, carpentry, gardening, and most of all spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife, Sandy; Stephen and wife Gerry Hodges of Owosso, Tammy and husband Dean Bartz of Flint, Debra and husband Steven Webber of Benzonia, and Randall Hodges of Lennon; grandchildren, Heather Webber, Matthew Webber, Christian Bartz, Kevin Bartz, Jack Call, Henry Call, Andrew Wright, MaryKate Wright, and Aaron Elliott; sisters, Betty Salisbury of Stanton and Eileen and husband Roger Wright of Mt. Morris; brother, James and wife Marie Hodges of Vestaburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step mother, Blanche Hodges; and daughter, Lori Ann Hodges.
