Ray LENZE

LENZE, E. Raymond "Ray" - Age 62, died Friday, May 31, 2013. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, June 3 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton where a vigil service will be held 7PM Sunday at the funeral home. Visitation Monday will be 10AM until mass at church. Those desiring may make contributions in lieu of flowers to St. John Church or the American Cancer Society. Ray was born July 24, 1950 in St. Charles, Missouri, the son of Othmar Joseph Lenze and Jean Marie (Fahy) Lenze. Ray married Sheila A. Luberti on September 16, 1978. He was a graduate of Lawrence Technological University and earned in Masters Degree in Urban Planning from Wayne State University. He retired from the Genesee County Planning Commission in 1999. He then worked for MDOT. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and active in the Youth Ministry. He had been active in Boy Scouts. He loved his vacations especially at national parks, warm weather, and Notre Dame. He is survived by wife, Sheila; children, Brian (fiancee Abby Fierro) of Las Vegas, NV., Laura of Linden, Michael of Sterling Heights; siblings, Othmar Joseph (Jackie) Lenze II, Anne (David) Cassar, David Lenze, Susan (Bill) St. Onge, Carl (Jan) Lenze, Jim (Anne) Lenze; many nieces and nephews.
