Rita Feinstein

FEINSTEIN, Rita - age 73, of Flint, died Monday, July 31, 2006 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at Congregation Beth Israel, 5240 Calkins Rd., Flint with Rabbi Yisroel Weingarten officiating. Interment will follow at Machpelah Cemetery. The family will sit Shiva Wednesday through Sunday night at the Feinstein residence. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Congregation Beth Israel. Rita was born October 3, 1932 in Irwin, PA, the daughter of Harry E. and Sophie (Weiner) Shapiro. She married Larry Feinstein on April 6, 1952 in Flint. Rita was an active member of the community serving on the Board of Congregation Beth Israel for six years. She was a member of the Sisterhood of Congregation Beth Israel, taught Sunday school for 17 years and was active in the Russian Resettlement Program. Rita was also a member of City of Hope and Hadassah. Rita was a loving wife, mother and Bubbe. Surviving are: husband, Larry of Flint; three children, Gail Feinstein of Columbus, OH, Jeffrey Feinstein of Oak Park, Marcia (Ben) Atchison of Kalamazoo; three loving grandchildren, Benjamin E. Feinstein, Katie Kwiatkowski, Heidi Atchison; brother, Edward (Golda) Shapiro of West Bloomfield; life-long friend, Carmen Rachwal; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Irwin; sister, Barbara 'Bobbi' Weisberg.
