KELLER, ROBERT PAUL age 83 of Linden, died Monday, November 24, 2008 at Genesys Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 29, at Hope Lutheran Church, 7355 W Silver Lake Road, Linden with Rev. Lawrence Eckart officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 1 4 and 6 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E Broad St., Linden. Those desiring may make memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to Hope Lutheran Church Building Fund. Bob was born in Detroit, Michigan to Charles Keller and Selma Sielaff. He was a graduate of Denby High School, and the University of Detroit with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering Summa Cum Laude, later obtaining Masters in Engineering and Business. Bob was a Navigator of a B-29 Superfortress during World War II as a member of the Army Air Corp. He met and married Louise Warrington while in the employ of Carbaloy in Detroit. He worked at Chrysler Corporation for 35 years in many roles, including quarterbacking and writing an Engineering Plan in support of the Lee Iaccoca rescue of Chrysler. After retirement, he became a VP of a personnel company helping others understand their abilities and talents, and assisting with job placement. He served his Lord as active members of Hope Lutheran Church and formerly St. Paul Lutheran Church (Royal Oak, Michigan), including his 15 years as the Catechism instructor at Hope and where he was affectionately known as the candy man. Bob was a life long Boy Scout, attaining his Eagle Scout as a young man and going on to assist many other scouts to obtain their Eagle Scout awards. He was active in the community, serving at various times as an Argentine Trustee, Board Members of the Planning Commission and Board of Appeals, Liaison for the Fire Department, Township Lake Management Committee Board, and the Lobdell and Bennett Lakes Lake Association, which included his involvement in the efforts to acquire the Wolcott Mill and water rights, and opposition to a landfill in the watershed area thereby protecting the lakes and streams of Argentine, Deerfield, and Tyrone Townships. He is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Louise Keller, son James Keller and wife Connie Jean, son Steve Keller and wife Vicki, daughter Connie Casselton and husband Ernie Miller, eight grandchildren: Aaron, Chris, Katherine, Jacqueline, Rebecca, and Robert Keller, and Anne and Carolyn Casselton; three brothers, Chuck (Betty), Eugene (Norma Jean) and Don Keller; brother- and sister-in-laws, Glenn, Doris and Donna Warrington, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, James and Tom (Delores) Keller and his father- and mother-in-law, Howard and Blanche Warrington.
