Sally Parker

November 1, 1937 — December 22, 2007

PARKER, (Turnage), Sally Irene age 70 slipped peacefully away from us on a sunny December morning. Sally was the devoted, loving, wonderful first of three daughters born to Jeptha Fleming and Delia Frances (Duncan) Turnage. Born November 1, 1937 in Flint Township, Sally lived almost her whole life in her family home surrounded by the flowers and trees her daddy planted. She was a devoted friend, a loving daughter, a faithful and caring wife, a supportive sister, but most of all she was my funny, sarcastic, perfectionist, opinionated, sweet, protective and beautiful mother. Sally attended and graduated from Utley High School (Go Elks!). She lived to roller skate back then and won several medals in compulsary skating. September 16, 1958 she married Jerry Wayne Parker. I think it was one of her best decisions. Born to them, was one their one and only, loving daughter, Tina Renee' Parker. Sadly Jerry preceded her in death on February 12, 2006. Sally was inquisitive and smart, she loved books, not just reading them, but the feel, the smell and the knowledge in them. Sally was active in the Flint Community Players appearing in "Things Theatrical". She assisted her good friend Arthur Inman, teaching methods of acting through the Model Cities program. In Flint, she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and had been active in the Stephan Ministries program. She was politically aware and active. She was a past member of the friends of the McCarty Library and memorials may be made to the library, in her name for the books on tape. Sally is survived by her daughter, son-in-law and friend, Tina and Peter Satkowiak, her only grandchild, Sarah Elizabeth, her unique loving, funny sisters, Bette Chapel and Donna Turnage and her faithful K-9 companion "Woody" Sally's extended family includes an extraordinary group of cousins, Aunts, uncles, in-laws and friends to numberous to mention here. Services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 28, 2007 at the Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc, Twp. Pastor Richard Brennan will officiate. Visitation will be received from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday and on thursday from 12 noon to 8 P.M. "Three there be and only three, and each of them are a part of me". From the poem "Children Three" by Hannah Kahn. Online condolences or tributes may be posted on the obituary page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
