Shirley DORTCH

DORTCH, Shirley - age 92 of Flint, died Saturday, January 28, 2012. Services will be held 11 AM Friday, February 3, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. The family will receive friends from 10:15 AM until the time of service Friday. Mrs. Dortch was born September 11, 1919 in Flint, the daughter of Carl and Gola (West) Meade. She was a 1937 graduate of Flint Central High School and retired from AC Spark Plug in 1966. She married Troy L. Dortch on November 23, 1963 and he preceded her in death on November 2, 1998. Mrs. Dortch attended First Baptist Church in Bradenton, FL and volunteered with American Red Cross, McLaren and with children in schools. She enjoyed playing Bridge and sports of all kinds. Surviving are: children, Gary Cooper and wife, Sandra of Swartz Creek, Lou Dortch and wife, Johannah of Grand Blanc Leslee Russell of New York; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
