Stanley Broughton

Broughton, Stanley - Age 88, of Swartz Creek, died Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held from 6-9 PM Friday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Genesys Hospice. Mr. Broughton was born October 21, 1917 in Swartz Creek, the son of Albert and Clara (Goodyear) Broughton. He married Louise Passmore on September 23, 1939. Mr. Broughton was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the 94th Infantry during World War II. He retired from General Motors after 25 years of service. Mr. Broughton was an avid reader of non-fiction. Survivng are: loving wife of 67 years, Louise; two children, Jeffory Broughton and wife, Cathy of Mason, Ann and husband, Gary Cornelius of FL; three grandchildren, Damon Cornelius and wife, Amy, Becky Broughton, Laura Broughton; great-granddaughter, Hannah; sister, Norma and husband, Rex Lawcock of Grosse Isle; niece, Karen McKinney.
