NICKOLA, Thelma J. - Age 79, of Beaverton, formerly of Grand Blanc, died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at her daughter Tina's residence in Columbiaville. Funeral Services will be 10 AM Saturday, January 26, 2008 at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 5191 Lennon Road, Flint. Family and friends will gather at the church after 9 AM Saturday. The very Rev. Fr. Joseph Abud officiating. Burial following the funeral in Gracelawn Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-9 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint, with a Trisagion service at 7 PM Friday evening. Those desiring may make contributions to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. She was born June 30, 1928 in Flint the daughter of William and Phyllis (Georges) Chuleas. She married George Nickola on July 25, 1954 in Flint. Mrs. Nickola was a wonderful cook, and she enjoyed bingo, reading, knitting, puzzles, casinos, traveling, people and she was a Detroit Tigers fan. She loved to sing and inspired to be an Opera Singer, and she sang at many weddings over the years. She was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, ran their Bingo, and was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was very proud of her Greek heritage and loved Greek music. Surviving are: husband George; three children, Tina and husband Tom Bowles of Columbiaville, Joseph and wife Jody Nickola of Grand Blanc, Nicole and husband Bill Salgat of Columbiaville; grandchildren, Morgan Salgat, Maria Salgat, Margee Nickola, Kylie Nickola, Jordan Nickola, Kristy Dingler and fiance Shawn Sager, Angela and husband John Dyer; great-granddaughter, Hailey Dyer; sister, Anna Williams; brother, Gus and wife Athena Chuleas; sister-in-law, Maria Chuleas; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, loving extended family and many friends.  She was preceded in death by two sons, Faris G. Nickola, Michael G. Nickola; sisters, Helen Paraschos, Diane McMullen, Sophie Bieri, Mable Murphy, Mary Gregory; and brother, George Chuleas.
