Thomas Whitson

WHITSON, Thomas Dale, age 87 of Grand Blanc, died Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Genesys Health Park after a short illness. Visitation will be Monday, December 22, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc twp. from 12 Noon to 4:00 P.M. at which time a funeral service will begin. Interment will be later at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Tom was born in Dexter, Missouri on October 1, 1921. He was raised in Flint, Tom was a W.W.II veteran of the U.S. Army and was awarded he Bronze Star while serving with the 36th Infantry Division in France. He was a member of the Midwest Chapter 36th Infantry Division, former member of the Spring Meadows Country Club and the Genesee Hills Golf and Country Club. Tom was a former employee of General Motors, where he worked from 1947 until his retirement in 1979. Surviving are his brother, Grant Whitson, a step-son Christopher F. Tremain and wife, Karen and step-daughter, Sherry Owens. In Lieu of flowers, those desiring may make a contribution to the National Parkinson's Foundation.
