MAYS, Trixie- Age 76, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Durand Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Rev. Grant Wessel officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5-9 PM Monday, 1-4 and 6-9 PM Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association. Trixie was born March 7, 1932 in Swartz Creek, the daughter of James Ernest and Lottie (Kimmel) DeMoss. She married John Halsey 'Bud' Mays August 25, 1951 in Swartz Creek. She has resided in Swartz Creek her entire life. Trixie retired in 1994 from the Swartz Community Schools as the Transportation and Food Services Director after 32 years of service. Surviving are: husband, John 'Bud'; 4 children, Linda and husband Randy Novenske of Beaverton, John Jr. and wife Maureen Mays of Gaines, Patricia 'Patsy' and husband Ned Sandford of Gaines, James Mays of Beaverton; 7 grandchildren, Amy (Steve) Leahy, Jill Avis, Brian 'B.J.' Mays, David Mays, Jay (Lynsay) Sandford, Christina Mays, Julie Sandford; 4 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Evelyn Cimbalik, Marjorie Klette, Vivian (Leroy) Zuercher; brother, Donald (Jan)DeMoss; many nieces and nephews.
