Vastina Merrell

MERRELL, Vastina (Choate)- Age 58, of Fenton, died Saturday, March 17, 2007 at her residence.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton.  Burial in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1-4 and 6-9 PM Tuesday.  Those desiring may make contributions to a charity of your choice.  Mrs. Merrell was born November 16, 1948 in Flint, the daughter of Hershel H. and Arvella (Lewis) Choate.  She married Grant A. Merrell October 28, 1988 and he preceded her in death in 1990.  Surviving are:  2 children, Teresa Galloway-Swift and Jerry Galloway both of Batesville, AR; 7 grandchildren; brother, Roger and wife Sharon Choate of Linden; sister, Emma and husband Garry Savage of Grayling; many nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by her parents and step-father, Preston Shipman.  Friends may share an online condolence or post a tribute at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
