Vernice Burnett

BURNETT, Vernice Virgil - Age 91, of Caseville formerly of Dearborn, died Thursday, November 6, 2008 at Young at Heart Assisted Living. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 10, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Home, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad Street, Linden with Rev. E. Tavierne officiating. Burial immediately following at Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of service Monday. Mr. Burnett was born April 9, 1917 in Melber, KY, the son of George and Polly (Thurston) Burnett. He married Ruby Louise Smith and she preceded him in death March 1, 2004. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Burnett retired from the City of Dearborn after 25 years of service. Surviving are: 2 sons, Gary of Dayton, OH, Virgil and wife Patricia of Gaines; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; sister, Rena Walters of Paducah, KY; brother, Carl and wife Vida of Paducah, KY; many nieces and nephews.
