Walter JENKINS

JENKINS, Walter - age 58, of Linden, died Friday, March 2, 2012 at Genesys Health Park. Services will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012 in Mississippi. A memorial service will be announced at a later date at Freedom Center in Fenton. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Freedom Center Building Fund. Walter was born August 7, 1953 in Jackson, MS, the son of Robert K. and Janie (Taylor) Jenkins. He married Nancy North on August 2, 1985. Walter was a 1975 graduate of Dartmouth College and earned a master's degree from Kettering University (GMI) in 1986. He retired from General Motors as a Quality Engineer in 2009 after 32 years of service. Walter was an active member of the Freedom Center. Surviving are: wife, Nancy; son, Louie (Tammy) Flowers III; daughter, Jaime Flowers; three grandchildren, Victoria, Cincere, and Ciarra; father, Robert K. Jenkins; bother, Robert K. (Rae) Jenkins, Jr.; two sisters, DiAnn Jenkins-Grant, Delphine (Herman) Davis; cousin, Lonnie (Sharon) Jenkins; two brothers-in-law, Tim North, Patrick (Sharon) North. His mother and two brothers, Freddy and O.V. Jenkins, preceded him in death.
