Wayne Griggs

GRIGGS, Wayne- Age 86, of Flint, died Sunday, June 3, 2007 at Fenton Extended Care.  Funeral services will be held 1:30PM Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Burial in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30AM until the time of service.  Those desiring may make contributions to the charity of your choice.  Mr. Griggs was born February 22, 1921 in Pierre, South Dakota, the son of Ulysses S. and Clara M.(Anderson) Griggs.  He married Jean Spooner in 1945 and she preceded him in death in 1982, he than married Dorothy Smith in 1984 and she preceded him in death in 2005.  He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Marine Corp.  He was a Truck Driver for many years.  He was a member of the Teamsters and the D.A.V..  Surviving are:  3 children, Linda Palmer (Denny) of Flint, Alan Griggs of Flint, Pam and husband Jake Snitko of Trinity, FL; granddaughter, Stefanie Thompson and fiance Kevin Buning of Flint; 2 great granddaughters, Camryn and Erica Buning; 2 sisters, Beulah and husband Max Pugh of Montana and Harriet and husband Harold Chandler of Arizona; many nieces and nephews.  He was also preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger Griggs.  Friends may share an online condolence or post a tribute at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
