William Bruner

BRUNER, William (Bill)- of Gaines, Michigan, died Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, September 2, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor David Boillat officiating. Interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Gaines, Michigan. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contribution to the American Cancer Society. Mr. Bruner was born in Shoals, Indiana on July 3, 1929, the son of Charles and Reina Bruner. William graduated from Shoals High School. He married Melba Farrow on July 5, 1952. He was an air traffic controller in the U.S. Air Force in the early to mid 50's. William retired as a millwright from General Motors SPO with 34 years of service in 1984. He is survived by his wife, Melba Bruner of Gaines, MI; daughter, Colleen Sims (Thomas) of Linden, MI; brother, Robert Charles Bruner of Shoals, IN; sister, Wahneta Felton of Loogootee, IN; granddaughter, Aimee Boillat (Erik) of MI; grandson, Christopher Sims and fiance Erin Coons of MI; two great grandchildren, Jonah and Julia Boillat of MI and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Reina Bruner, infant brother, David and daughter, Cheryl Granger. The family would like to thank the caring staff of McLaren Hospital and Select Care Extended Care facility for your care and kindness.
