EMERTON, William J. - Age 76, of Flint, died Thursday, April 26, 2007 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, April 30, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Rev. Parker Smith will officiate. Military Honors will follow under the auspices of Fenton V.F.W. Curtis-Wolverton Post #3243. Interment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3-7 PM Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the VA Hospital of one's choice. William was born April 15, 1931 in Flint, the son of Angus and Ida Emerton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean Conflict on the U.S.S. Bennington Air Craft Carrier. Mr. Emerton retired from Chevrolet Truck & Bus. He loved his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, telling jokes and his dog, Penny. He enjoyed repairing and painting tractors & lawnmowers. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, until his health made him unable. He was a member of the motorcycle club, Road Runners. Surviving are: three children, Kenneth and wife Cecelia Emerton, Brenda and husband Steve Jansen, Jeff Emerton; grandchildren, Angie, Jared, Bonnie, Jennifer, Kevin, Tosha, Suzie, Dusty and Raini; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Brandon and Donovan.
